First Visit

We are excited to meet you and your family for your first visit to our office. This first appointment is very important as it helps us understand your orthodontic needs. The 30-minute consultation will include a thorough examination and a discussion about possible treatment options led by Dr. Lew B. Sample or Dr. Lauren Sharp Newton.

We value your time and will make this visit as efficient as possible. To streamline your treatment, we may schedule extra time after the exam to take diagnostic records, such as X-rays, photos, and impressions. This will enable us to create a detailed and effective treatment plan. The additional session will usually last about an hour.

What We’ll Discuss During Your First Visit

During your initial evaluation, we will discuss several important questions regarding orthodontic treatment. Please feel free to ask any additional questions you may have.

  • Can orthodontics address my specific condition?
  • Is immediate treatment necessary, or should we wait for optimal growth or tooth development?
  • What procedures will be used to correct the issue?
  • Will any permanent teeth need to be extracted?
  • How long will the treatment take?
  • What will the treatment cost?
  • What payment options are available?

While we can provide general answers to these questions during your examination, a more detailed analysis will follow after reviewing your diagnostic records. This thorough planning ensures the best possible results and enhances patient satisfaction.

Next Steps: Consultation and Financial Details

After your first examination, we will schedule a consultation to go over your treatment options, discuss timelines, and review financial arrangements. Our aim is for you to have a clear understanding of your treatment plan, including the procedure and its duration. We are here to address any further questions you may have.

Preparing for Your First Visit

To make your visit as smooth as possible, please bring the following:

  • A panoramic X-ray was taken within the past six months.
  • Your orthodontic insurance card, if applicable. Providing this information upfront will allow us to give you a cost estimate right away.

Commitment to Open Communication

We believe that excellent orthodontic care begins with open communication. We are dedicated to having candid discussions about our diagnosis and recommendations with you. We will also consider any alternative treatments and address any symptoms that may require further attention. By working together, we aim to achieve a common goal: helping you achieve a stunning, confident smile!
